About QLSS
The seeds for Quantum Leap Software Solutions (QLSS) were planted in 1978 when Thom Underwood, switched from a typewriter and began using a computer for his jewelry appraisal practice. Seeking to further streamline the time-consuming appraisal process, he looked towards creating customized software. QLSS the company and Professional Appraisal Software (PAS) for DOS were the result, first released to the US and Canadian market in 1987 and the UK in 2005.
In 1993, with yet another breakthrough for jewelry appraisers, QLSS released its first Windows version of PAS. Over the ensuing decades, QLSS has grown from a "grass-roots" organization into a full-fledged corporate entity. PAS remained at the forefront of jewelry appraisal technology with features that provided unprecedented flexibility and stability for jewelry appraisers around the globe.
In 2014, after much study of the changing technological landscape, we began a complete rewrite of our appraisal software, called QL2, that embraces the future of computing and software applications. QL2 runs in your browser and implements the latest and best technology available continuing to streamline the production of jewelry appraisals for the discriminating jeweler and independent appraiser.
